The Last Convoy (Desert World) - Jackal/insect creature

Creature design and 3D sculpt made for my cinematic concept art project developed in July 2021 as a mentorship with Jama Jurabaev.

This is a mutated Jackal, that got several insect-like features. It roams around the industrial area and it's not particularly dangerous, except the venomous bite.

Story Pitch:
Solar activity increase and sums up with greenhouse gas global warming.
Sun cosmic rays hits the Earth, electronics infrastructures suffer and fail.
A gigantic chemical plant exlode.
A vast area is affected by the blast and the poisonous fallout.
In a short time everything is covered by a heavy layer of dust and dirt.
Life disappears and cities must be evacuated and abandoned.
One last place remains to be evacuted: a maximum security prison.
Between the inmates, there is the leader of the biggest drug cartel.
His mens will profit of the transfer to attack the convoy and free their boss.
Guards and other criminals will need to find an alliance to survive.
And cartel wepons aren't the only threat out there.

Tools:
High-poly sculpt made in ZBrush, with polypaint (high-res vertex painting). UV unwrap in ZBrush and UV packing in Blender (UV packmaster). Materials and texturing in 3DCoat. Rigging in Blender with Rigify and render in Blender Cycles. Overpainting in Clip Studio Paint.
